山中千尋（やまなかちひろ）は、日本のジャズ・ピアニストであり、作曲家、編曲家でもあります。彼女は1978年に生まれ、群馬県出身です。幼少期からクラシック・ピアノを学び、大学在学中にジャズに興味を持ち、ジャズ・ピアノの演奏を始めました。
彼女はバークリーを首席で卒業後、2001年10月に日本のジャズ・ピアノの名門レーベル「澤野工房」からファースト・アルバム『Living Without Friday』を発表。以降、数多くのアルバムをリリースし、その演奏スタイルや独自の音楽性が高く評価され、多くのファンを獲得しました。また、2005年9月にはユニバーサル傘下のヴァーヴ・レコードに移籍し、移籍後第1作『Outside by the Swing』をリリース、メジャーデビューを果しました。
Chihiro Yamanaka is a Japanese jazz pianist, composer and arranger. She was born in Gunma Prefecture in 1978. She learned classical piano from an early age, and became interested in jazz during her time at university, and began playing jazz piano.
After graduating from Berklee with honors, she released her first album, “Living Without Friday,” in October 2001 on the prestigious Japanese jazz piano label, Sawano Kobo. Since then, she has released numerous albums, and her playing style and unique musicality have earned her many fans. In September 2005, she moved to Verve Records, a subsidiary of Universal, and released her first album, “Outside by the Swing,” marking her major debut.

She has performed not only in Japan but also overseas, appearing at jazz festivals in the US and international music festivals in Canada, France, Spain, Germany, etc. She has also collaborated with many famous jazz musicians, including John Scofield, Lewis Nash, Roy Haynes, John Abercrombie, and Peter Eldridge.
In addition to performing jazz piano, she is also a highly acclaimed composer and arranger of her own music. Her music often combines classical and traditional Japanese music, pioneering new musical styles.
