大西順子（Junko Onishi）について

大西順子（おおにしじゅんこ）は、日本のジャズピアニストであり、作曲家、編曲家でもあります。彼女は、繊細で洗練された演奏スタイルで知られ、音楽愛好家からの高い評価を受けています。

彼女は、1967年に京都府にて生まれました。幼少期から音楽に興味を持ち、ピアノを始めたのは4歳の時でした。彼女は、東京都立国立高等学校に在籍中、兄が持っていたセロニアス・モンクのレコードを聴いて衝撃を受け、ジャズに開眼し、その後、バークリー音楽大学に留学しました。

Junko Onishi is a Japanese jazz pianist, composer and arranger known for her sensitive and sophisticated playing style and highly regarded by music lovers.

She was born in Kyoto Prefecture in 1967. She was interested in music from an early age and started playing the piano at the age of 4. While attending Tokyo Metropolitan Kunitachi High School, she was shocked by her older brother’s Thelonious Monk records and opened her eyes to jazz. She later studied abroad at Berklee College of Music.

During her time at Berklee College of Music, she joined the prestigious jazz piano group Lewis Nash and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and has performed with such renowned musicians as Billy Taylor, George Coleman, Ted Rosenthal, Lenny Pyken, and Maria Schneider.

In 1989, Junko Onishi moved to New York and began her career as a professional jazz musician. She has performed in New York clubs and festivals, and throughout the world, including Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America. Junko Onishi has released numerous albums under her own name, including “Live at the Village Vanguard,” “play, piano, play,” and “Very Special.” She has also composed and arranged film scores.

Junko Onishi is recognized as a highly talented and award-winning jazz pianist, and has recently made a comeback after announcing her retirement.
