Detroit-born bassist and composer N’Dea Owens is recognized as one of the jazz world’s most vibrant emerging artists. She has been mentored by jazz greats such as Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitker, and Ron Carter, and has performed with many notable artists, including Wynton Marsalis, Diana Ross, Solange, and Jon Batiste. She graduated from Juilliard in 2018 and is currently a member of Stay Human, the house band for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“MJAF Nights” is an evening event series organized by the Montreux Jazz Artists Foundation, aiming to highlight the diversity of the contemporary jazz scene and introduce new talent.
