2022年5月22日、ピアニストの大林武司率いる “Trio Renaissance” が、東京・南青山のブルーノート東京でライブ公演を行いました。メンバー構成はピアノ：大林武司、ベース：小川晋平、ドラムス：中村雄二郎です。
大林武司は、日本を代表するジャズ・ピアニストの一人で、ニューヨークを拠点に国際的に活躍しています。クラシックピアノを学んだ後、ジャズに転向。2007年にバークリー音楽大学へ留学し、卒業後はニューヨークでプロとしてのキャリアをスタートしました。クリスチャン・スコット（trp）、テレンス・ブランチャード（trp）、ホセ・ジェイムズ（vo）などのトップアーティストと共演。
この公演は、ストレートアヘッド・ジャズの真髄をアップデートするプロジェクトとして位置づけられ、自由で躍動感あふれるアンサンブルが披露されました。
On May 22, 2022, “Trio Renaissance,” led by pianist Takeshi Obayashi, performed live at Blue Note Tokyo in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. The members were piano: Takeshi Obayashi, bass: Shinpei Ogawa, and drums: Yujiro Nakamura.
Takeshi Obayashi is one of Japan’s leading jazz pianists, and is active internationally, based in New York. After studying classical piano, he switched to jazz. He studied abroad at Berklee College of Music in 2007, and after graduating he began his professional career in New York. He has performed with top artists such as Christian Scott (trp), Terence Blanchard (trp), and Jose James (vo).
This performance was positioned as a project to update the essence of straight-ahead jazz, and featured a free and dynamic ensemble.
