多田誠司（ただ せいじ）は、1960年に香川県高松市で生まれた日本を代表するジャズサックス奏者です。
中学・高校時代は吹奏楽部でフルートと指揮を担当し、岡山大学入学後にジャズ研究会に入部、20歳でアルトサックスに転向しました。 大学卒業後は地元でセミプロとして活動していましたが、ジャズへの情熱から1988年に上京し、都内のライブハウスでの活動を開始しました。1990年には村田浩＆The BOP BANDに参加し、1992年のアルバム『The Blues Walk』で注目を集めました。 その後も大西順子クインテットや日野皓正グループなど、国内外の著名なミュージシャンと共演し、数多くのアルバムをリリースしています。 2017年にはニューヨークでRenee Rosnes（ピアノ）、Peter Washington（ベース）、Kenny Washington（ドラム）らとレコーディングを行い、2018年にアルバム『Workout!!』をリリースしました。
教育活動にも力を入れており、洗足学園音楽大学やオルタードミュージックスクールなどで講師を務めるほか、YouTubeチャンネル「Taddy’s Nest」を開設し、ジャズやサックスに関する情報を発信しています。
Seiji Tada is one of Japan’s leading jazz saxophonists, born in Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture in 1960.
During his junior and senior high school years, he played the flute and conducted in the brass band. After entering Okayama University, he joined the Jazz Research Club and switched to the alto saxophone at the age of 20. After graduating from university, he worked as a semi-professional musician in his hometown, but his passion for jazz led him to move to Tokyo in 1988 and begin performing at live music venues in the city. In 1990, he joined Hiroshi Murata & The BOP BAND, and attracted attention with his 1992 album “The Blues Walk.” Since then, he has performed with well-known musicians both in Japan and abroad, such as the Junko Onishi Quintet and the Terumasa Hino Group, and released numerous albums. In 2017, he recorded in New York with Renee Rosnes (piano), Peter Washington (bass), and Kenny Washington (drums), and released the album “Workout!!” in 2018.
He is also active in education, serving as a lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and Altered Music School, and has run a YouTube channel called “Taddy’s Nest” where he shares information about jazz and saxophone.
